Review from Amazon Top 50 Reviewer, Steve Ramm:

We spent the last two weeks on a cruise to Canada on the Celebrity Summit. I was honestly unimpressed by the caliber of the entertainment in the big theater and so I sought it elsewhere on the ship. That's when I discovered Jordan Peterson.

If you've ever been on a cruise ship you know there is usually what I call "a piano man" who sits for 4 hours straight in a lounge with his laptop containing what they call in the business a "fake book". It usually has the 500 "most popular lounge standards" (Sinatra, Streisand, anything by Andrew Lloyd Webber). Well, I was drinking my coffee one night when I heard Jordan (at a portable keyboard) singing one of my favorite songs "Walkin' in Memphis" by Marc Cohn. It was great. So I hung around for a while and caught him the next night in a different location, this time with a real piano. There were requests for Billy Joel and Johnny Mathis and Jordan played these but he also did two different songs by Meat Loaf, a Tower of Power Number and, when someone asked for "Chicago" I figured he'd start singing "My kind of town, Chicago is..." but, instead went into "Does Anybody really Know what Time it is" (by the "band" CHICAGO!). I knew I'd enjoy his CD so I got a copy and brought it home.

Though there are only eight songs on the 37 minute CD, he covers the gamut - just like he did every night on the ship. There's an Elton John song , Don Henley's "Boys of Summer" and Hall and Oates' "Sara Smile" (Jordan told me he's a huge fan of the duo though he may not have even been born when it was a hit) all on solo piano. For the other five songs he is accompanied by a jazz combo with bass, guitar, drums and, on one, a trumpet. On the ship, he was strictly solo. I liked a few of the ones with the band but felt the two self-penned compositions (both about personal relationships) worked better with just Peterson's voice and piano. But that's just a personal opinion. There is no bio or other info in the digi-pak (but I'm sure it's on his website). The info consists of the songs, he composer names and the musicians plus the fact that five of the tracks were recorded live on the Celebrity Century.

I've been off our cruise ship for a few days but now I have this talented young man available to play whenever I want.

I can wait to see what he does for his second CD (Maet Loaf and Mathis anyone?)

I hope you found this review both informative and helpful.
